Mera Kuch Saamaan - Ijaazat

This song is too dear to my heart - I fell in love with all the songs from Ijaazat, growing up as a teenager in Toronto. I had newly discovered the genius of Gulzar and I was obssessed with learning about every song he had ever written. For me this was post-discovery of the phenomenon called R.D. Burman, and I drank in the film with my eyes, to absorb every element of it. The combination of R.D. Burman and Gulzar remains as my absolute favorites, and this film's soundtrack is the perfect harmony of both their talents.

The seriousness of the film's theme escaped me at the time, but the impact of the lyrics and the beautiful composition remained etched on my soul....This song is a request for a return of the mementos and memories that went along with a very emotional relationship. Sung by none other than Asha Bhosle, Anuradha Patel emotes this tender reminder to Naseeruddin Shah's character. One of Gulzar's finest songs, I have forever wanted to sing this. I offer my humble presentation to you......

Kuch Jyaada Mazaa nahi aaya...Sorry!.. The melody is missing.. You should leave the words gracefully, thats missing for sure in many places. Sur bohut jagah nahi lage hain theek se. 5/10 is my take on this song as far as your singing is concerned. Finally , Is this a karaoke rendition ? The Bass is aweful! Not even an inch of what was played by Tony Vazz ! But I think you have it probably need a little more work and you will be there... my honest opinion.

Hi there, thanks for your input; frankly I was very unhappy with this version of my song. I had pressure to put up a song quickly, so I did run through this one.

I'm obviously not a professional, and yes, it's a work in progress, so I definitely know that this would sound much better if more work was put into it. That being said, and with all due respect, since you are obviously a guitarist who was searching for a different version of this song, I do not believe it was as bad as 5/10. I do agree on your points about the sur being less. I'm my worst critic and I would never disagree with my own mistakes. This obviously was a karaoke rendition - how else would someone like me get a chance to sing Gulzar's songs ;-)

I will hopefully not disappoint you too much in the future :-)

Hi .. I understand you are not a professional and I did not mean any personal attack on you! I just honestly posted my thoughts. Appreciate that you realised it was recorded in a hurry. Lekin, lekin 5 se jyaada nahi doonga ;-), is baat pe we have disagreement I guess. ... hee hee... anyways.. was thinking if you could give a try to "Logon Na maro Ise" number from Anamika. In case you do not have the karaoke, here is the link - http://www.esnips.com/doc/9ca904f5-030d-4df9-95ca-f6abc6721bd7/Logo-Na-Maro-Isse-Teesri-Manzil. The karaoke is decent and somehow gives a nice feel I guess.. bhai abhi junta ki farmaish par aap gaur karna to chahiye hi kyun ? Ekdum seedha gaana hai jyaada murkiyan nahi hai but the feel is important..
